Menlyn Park & Clumsy Smurf visit the Jacaranda Children's Home
It's a kids world @ Menlyn Park with the Jacaranda's Childrens Home
Menlyn Park Shopping Centre took Clumsy Smurf a character from the newly released The Smurfs movie, to the Jacaranda Children’s Home on Friday, 21 October. The Jacaranda and Louis Botha Children’s Homes are non-profit organizations (NPO) that look after the welfare of abused children. These children are removed from their parents and placed in their care by the South African children’s court due to: abandonment, neglect, emotional and physical abuse. Their primary purpose is to provide the children with clothing, housing, schooling, food, security and stability. In addition, they aim to provide the children with the necessary therapy, life skills and emotional support that they need in order to become responsible adults and curb the cycle of abuse.
To enhance their experience the Menlyn way the children received movie tickets courtesy of Menlyn Park and Nu Metro Menlyn.

The Ultimate Gautrain Race with Menlyn Park and The Zone @ Rosebank
Menlyn Park and The Zone @ Rosebank joined forces to race against the Gautrain on Friday, 5 August. The day started with an exquisite breakfast at House of Coffees Menlyn Park, after which the ladies from both the Fresh Drive team and the Gareth Cliff on 5fm Mornings team ran with heart in a trolley dash for charity at Menlyn Park Checkers Hyper.
The Gautrain race was a thrilling event as the Maserati Gran Turismo raced away from Hatfield Station just as the train departed. Both teams, press and VIPs enjoyed the thrill and experience of the race.
A mere 5 minutes after the Fresh team arrived at The Zone, the Maserati with the breakfast team pulled up to Liquid Chefs at The Zone Phase 2, a true neck and neck race. The Fresh Drive won the ultimate victory.
On arrival at The Zone @ Rosebank, all were welcomed to a festive Marimba Band. Once again the ladies from both the Fresh Drive team and Gareth Cliff's breakfast show concluded with a final trolley dash at Woolworths at The Zone. All trolley dash goods were presented to the charities Villa of Hope supported by The Fresh Drive team and The Paige Project supported by the Gareth Cliff on 5fm Mornings team.

Menlyn Park celebrates the Pearls of Wisdom
St. Valentine’s Day marks a day on which we celebrate love and cherish our loved ones. Menlyn Park Shopping Centre celebrated this special day by inviting the Pearls of Wisdom, Menlyn Park’s pensioners to come and enjoy this time with us.
Courtesy of Menlyn Checkers Hyper, the Pearls of Wisdom enjoyed a complimentary coffee/ tea and cake with a special Valentine’s Day card. The first 40 pensioners received a complimentary movie courtesy of Nu Metro Menlyn.
Menlyn Park is all about the VIP experience and this year we want everyone to feel like a Menlyn celebrity.

Menlyn spoils underprivileged, 20 December 2010
The Menlyn Beach is back! Come wiggle your toes in the sand, and bring your kids along with their swimsuits and beach towels! The Beach is open to everyone until 9 January 2011. Join us as we celebrate the Festive spirit by spoiling the underprivileged children from the Eersterust community at our Menlyn Beach, today, 20 December.
The children from the Later- Rain Apostolic Church were picked up courtesy of Let's Tours Services via the Menlyn Shuttle and will arrived in style to experience a day at the Menlyn Beach. Each child was spoilt by McDonalds Menlyn with a complimentary lunch, delicious ice- cream from Scoop Menlyn and as courtesy from Menlyn Park the children be taken to the Menlyn Beach. The children will got to wiggle their toes in the beach sand and indulge in the water activities that Menlyn has to offer courtesy of Water Ball SA, whom runs the Water Tube, Water Balls and Bungee Trampoline.
This initiative serves as an opportunity for these children to realize their importance over the Festive season and a way Menlyn Park tries to uplift the community by spreading the Festive cheer. The children truly enjoyed the day with us and this was a once in lifetime opportunity for them, we look forward to hosting them again in the New Year.

Menlyn Park celebrates 10 days to the World Cup & welcome Fly Me
Menlyn Park Shopping Centre is proudly South African! Today, we celebrated 10 days to the World Cup Soccer with local schools (St Paulus Primary School, Varsity College, Damelin and University of Pretoria) and the Woolworths Choir. These participants stood to form the letters of the “WC 2010” at the Events Arena.
Fly Me will be sponsored helicopter rides for the Press to take photos of the human “World Cup 2010” display at the Events Arena.
Courtesy of Fly Me those present were granted the opportunity to view the human World Cup display from the sky.
Menlyn Park Shopping Centre has just been awarded “Outstanding Contribution to Retail Tourism” by City of Tshwane. Therefore Menlyn Park is making sure that we showcase our community in union to honour South Africa over the World Cup Soccer.

Menlyn Park Shopping Centre proudly hosted our own 50 Days to the 2010 World Cup. This initiative was held to create the excitement around the World Cup Soccer; we also decorated our Cavendish Court with Zakumi and soccer foosball tables. In this celebration we hosted the Woolworths choir who sang the National Anthem @ 11am this morning.
Menlyn Park Shopping Centre also honoured tradition by wearing their soccer jersey and joining in to learn how to Diski Dance. We also gave out some official FIFA instant prizes to some participants to add to the festivity. Menlyn Park Shopping Centre is gearing up to welcome 2010 World Cup.

100 days to World Cup 2010
Menlyn Park Shopping Centre is proudly South African and in conjunction with the Woolworths choir we will be playing our part in the tribute to 100 days to 2010 World Cup.
Menlyn Park Shopping Centre has already hoisted the flags of the other 32 countries participating in the 2010 World Cup and tomorrow, (Tuesday) 2 March 2010, we pay tribute to South Africa.
At 12 noon, we are to wave the South African flag and sing the National Anthem at the area in front of the Menlyn Events Arena, opposite KFC.
Menlyn Park Shopping Centre strives on making sure that we remain honoured that South Africa is one of the participants in the 2010 World Cup and that South Africa is the host country.
